Recipe of the week: Coffee Cake from an Amish recipe.

Coffee Cake




Beat shortening and sugar; add egg and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients alternately with vinegar, milk, and baking soda. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and 1/2 cup melted margarine. Bake in a 13x9x2" pan at 400° F. for 20 minutes. 1/3 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar
1 egg

2 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

1½ tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1 Tbsp. vinegar (fill with milk to make 1 cup liquid)

1 tsp. baking soda
