RECIPE OF THE WEEK : Cinnamon Raisin Bread


Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Soak for five minutes. Combine lukewarm milk, 1/4 c. sugar and salt. Add 1 cup flour, shortening and beaten egg. Continue to add flour until you get a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour. Punch down and let rise again. Mix 1/2 c. sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough into rectangle about 1/2" thick. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture and roll like a jelly roll. Let rise again and bake at 350° F. for about 30 minutes. 2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1½ c. lukewarm milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour+
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbs. cinnamon
